Classic Glazed Sweet Rolls

Ingredients

  • Warm Milk

    1 cup

    approx 110�F

  • Active Dry Yeast

    2 1/4 tsp

    one packet

  • All-purpose flour

    3 1/2 cups

    plus extra for dusting

  • Unsalted butter

    1/2 cup

    melted for dough, softened for filling

  • Brown Sugar

    3/4 cup

    for filling

  • Ground Cinnamon

    2 tbsp

    for filling

  • Powdered Sugar

    1 cup

    for glaze

  • Heavy Cream

    2 tbsp

    or milk, for glaze

    In a large bowl, whisk together warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

    Stir in melted butter and egg, then gradually add flour and salt until a soft dough forms.

    Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

    Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

    Punch down the dough and roll into a 12x18 inch rectangle.

    Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

    Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and cut into 12 even slices using a sharp knife or dental floss.

    Place rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.

    Preheat oven to 350�F and bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden brown.

    Whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over the rolls while they are still warm.
